Between translating, drawing and doing my own laundry I actually found some time to write a short journal entry here. It has been a while, my first and only entry dates from June. Somehow this week seems to revolve around the past. I look at my drawings and I can clearly see the progress I have made, though it is not nearly what I would like it to be.

Improvement takes time and I do not have the patience for it, simply because improvement always means learning new things and I like to stick to the things I am already fairly good at. I do not like to be the noob. But since I realized that I will always be the noob if I do not improve my skills, especially the ones concerning colouring, I am currently practicing my skills in drawing with opacity. Yes, that is correct, all drawings you can see here were made without opacity. Why? Because I was not used to it and did not know how to use it properly. Not that I know that now, but at least the knowledge of moderation helped to give me an idea of how this technique works. It does make quite the difference to use an opacity of three percent instead of thirty. Once I make some noteworthy progress I will upload it here so you can see it for yourselves.
